My name is Daisy and I love people. I love making connections; looking into someone’s eyes and to simply smile back with reassurance that “I see You and I feel for You”. I am ready to listen and support you if You are willing to share. Often what we need most is the acknowledgement and some simple act of kindness and compassion.

I have spent most of my professional life working in care facilities, hospitals, and psychiatry teaching people with disabilities how to regain some of their lost abilities and to improve their strength and activities performance. With a degree in Physical Therapy and as a Certified Assistive Technology Professional I helped my patients’ figure out adaptations and strategies to alleviate their challenges. In the process of working on improving my patient’s physical health and performance, I had realized what makes me most successful and helpful to them is my ability to motivate and encourage people to keep moving. One has to have a reason and a goal to want to take action.

What makes progress possible is our willingness to change. And it starts with an objective assessment of what makes us unhappy and why. What can we do to make things better? What’s in my way and preventing me from living the life I want to live?

There are all kinds of challenges; some of them physical and easier to see. Others hidden deep in our own minds, in our thoughts and beliefs about the world, other people, and ourselves.

Often, we sabotage ourselves with thoughts of doubt, low self-esteem, fears, anxieties.

Diagnosed with ADHD late in life, I lived the struggle of overcoming obstacles that stood in the way of what I had planned, decided, wanted to accomplish. I have learned it helps to understand the origins of my own shortcomings, develop and set in place strategies to overcome the challenges.

Understanding the causes of our difficulties in life allows us to adapt to challenges while also seeing the advantages of being unique and neurodiverse. Self-love is something we need to cultivate, and it helps us harness the positive energy that comes from acceptance and appreciation for gifts that we possess.
